On the 11 of February 2026, Dr Vasilis Sourlas, CCAM division leader at I-SENSE of ICCS participated in RTR 2026 as speaker in the session “HMI in-vehicle perception”.

Dr Sourlas talked about one of automated mobility’s most persistent challenges: perception in adverse weather. The EVENTS project, by improving robustness and resilience under difficult environmental conditions, contributes to validated safety and security, as well as secure and trustworthy interaction among road users. The session was moderated by Georgios Sarros from CINEA & Sarab Tay-Guyot from Valeo and included insights and results from three research projects: AWARE2ALL, EVENTS and HEIDI.

The EU Road Safety Cluster, in which the EVENTS project is actively participating, was also present in the RTR conference, launching its new joint paper on road safety data, bringing together challenges, solutions and policy insights from eleven EU-funded projects.
